Last year Tia Mowry-Hardrict announced she was pregnant with her second baby. First of all I was excited as if I knew her personally because I wanted Tia to have a second baby. There’s something about Tia Mowry that always drew me to her and allowed me to feel as if I shared similarities with her. Maybe it’s because I grew up addicted to Sister Sister. Or maybe it’s because every character she has chosen to play has some relatability to me, it seems as if every character she is there is a piece of that character that makes you say, “damn, that’s so me!”
Then she did the reality show with her twin sister Tamera and you saw who they really were and that made them even more likable. The reality show was so positive and you could tell it was genuine and their love for one another wouldn’t allow the scripted drama to overshadow who they were. They were women with integrity and a show that didn’t focus on the negativity, but was built to show sisterhood and positivity for black women everywhere. I say that because this show was on at a time when black women were shown only in a negative light on television.
Black women were only shown fighting and cursing each other out and that was America’s outlook of who we are and what we all represent. It fed into the stereotypes that we were all that way and we’re simply not.
I also connected with Tia Mowry because she opened up about her endometriosis and I also have endometriosis. Seeing her make adjustments as to not be defeated by the disease and just stay positive made me feel that much more connected to her. So since I was so invested into her already I was rooting for her to have another baby, because I know how difficult it can be and how lonely being the only child can be.
So, I was beyond elated to see she was expecting baby #2 and then to find out Baby Hardrict is a girl just gave me life…Then she began hitting us with that pregnancy fashion. Tia Mowry slays when she’s at her pre-baby weight so now she’s just giving ALL the baby fever with every outfit post since she announced her pregnancy.
