A Change for The Mass Market
CoverGirl TrueBlend Matte Made's Foudation
The newest foundation taking the make-up industry by storm is the Covergirl TruBlend Matte Made Liquid Foundation. A lot of YouTube beauty gurus like makeupshayla, Ivy, and Tierra Monet have given the foundation a try and Tierra Monet gave us a whole look only using the matte made collection products and a few others were applied off camera, so I just had to get my hands on it. The foundation boasts that the TruBlend Matte Made's formula is developed with flexi-hold technology that creates a strong, yet flexible film on skin for durability and comfort, while the mattifying powders absorb oil and minimizes pores for a soft matte, flawless finish; with up to 12 hours of wear.
The biggest thing that caught my attention was the fact that it claims to be TRANSFER RESISTANT which is almost impossible for your foundation to not transfer without a setting spray or powder of some sort, and that is has 40 Shades which has never been done in a drug store foundation. (I’m guessing Rihanna's Fenty release last year ruffled a few feathers with having so many shades to cover so many different skin tones.)
After trying the foundation out myself I have come to this conclusion. For a “drug store foundation” this stuff is amazing! I was a bit shook to see that after putting on my foundation I didn't feel the need to have to do anything else as far as setting. The coverage is pretty good on the first application, if you want a bit more coverage you can apply and build upon it which is great. I didn't keep it on for the full 12 hours but I am happy to say that it did stay in its place pretty well without having to reapply. I can agree that is is what the bottle claims for it to be upon the transfer test barely anything was on the napkin.
I have been using this foundation for about 4 months now and every time I use it I love it even more. I think for a “drug store foundation” to finally have enough shades for coverage of our skin that actually matches and doesn’t give us a grey cast over our skin that makes us look dead it’s about dang time. I use this as my everyday foundation because unlike my other foundations I can not break the bank when it is time to re-purchase it. With its price tag only being an affordable $9.00.
This foundation gave me the courage to give some of my other cover girl favs another try like the COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume Mascara which retails for about $10.00, the COVERGIRL Easy Breezy Micro-Fine Fill + Define Eyebrow Pencil which retails for about $7.00, and the COVERGIRL Intensify Me! Liquid Liner which is to die for and retails for about $7.00. So ladies if you are looking for the go ahead to give this foundation a go you have a thumbs up from us.
